On June 26, the Minister for Economic Affairs of the German
state of Lower Saxony, Dr. Philipp Rösler, paid a short visit to Delta-Stahl.
State parliament representative Dr. Max Matthiesen and attorney Harald Krantz
from the Lower Saxony Foreign Trade Association were also present.
The Minister is currently visiting companies to gain insight into the struggles
of the various industries due to the economic crisis.
After watching the image film about the KNAUF INTERFER group, Dr. Rösler
initiated a discussion about the role of politics in the international economic
crisis. In his view, goods flows in particular must be stimulated through
the provision of loans. An hour of animated discussion was followed by a
tour of the new cut-to-length line. The Minister was impressed by the overall
volume of the investment and noted that this magnitude is not often achieved
in the region of Hanover. He emphasised the importance of this measure especially
for a city like Barsinghausen.
Delta Managing Director Ralf Henkelmann explained to the Minister how the
new cut-to-length line works. He pointed out that the recently concluded
investments in management, hall construction and equipment ensure the future
of the KNAUF INTERFER site.
At the end of his visit, the Minister for Economic Affairs took home with
him a model Delta-Stahl truck as a memento of his visit.
